Expert Jury Meet at Mumbai



The Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards 2013 has crossed one more milestone with the successful conduct of the Expert Jury Meet. This meet was held in Mumbai over two days i.e. the 15th and the 16th of November 2013 and was attended by 22 jury members who interviewed 44 nominees and reviewed case studies for all the key categories, like the Segment specific Fleet Owners (Finished Metal Movement, Dry Bulk, Cement, Automotive Carriers, Tankers, Refrigerated Goods Movement, Exim Containers, Open Category), Fleet Drivers, Youth Transport Personality and Lady Transport Personality.

The jury members have been drawn from various facets of the transport ecosystem, viz., transport and logistics services users, commercial vehicle media, segment specific media (cement, infrastructure, steel, etc.), research firms, Management Faculty, Advisors to Government of India on logistics, etc. As in the past, Ernst & Young are the process advisors and auditors of the Awards and their representatives managed the jury process to ensure transparency, neutrality and process adherence. The process was also managed by the team of Anantara Solutions, the transport Sector Consultants. Mr. Kiran Rakhe and Mr. Vibhu Hajela also attended the jury meets as MTBL Observers.

On the 22nd of November 2013 there will be a jury meet for the CV Financiers category and on the 29th November 2013 again, the jury meet for the Highway Dhaba and Highway Mechanic categories would be held.

The shortlisted nominees would be put up for the final round of evaluation by the GRAND JURY, which will be held in December 2013 at Delhi. Prominent people from various domains are expected by part of the GRAND JURY. The Awards ceremony would be held in Delhi on the 9th of January 2014 and will be presided over by Hon. Shri Oscar Fernandes, Union Cabinet Minister for Surface Transport and Highways.

OPL Success follows at Gurgaon



The Outperformers' League is an exclusive forum, where fleet owners interact with other stakeholders in the trucking industry. It provides an opportunity for fleet owners to access first-hand information on crucial business-related aspects and concerns. The latest session of the OPL was held in Indore on the 21st of October, 2013. And this time, it was all for the valued drivers of the transport industry. 110 heavy license drivers attended the seminar. Even the local MTBL & dealership team and various fleet owners attended, to show their support.

Mahindra Trucks and Buses held an OPL seminar in Gurgaon on the 20th of November, 2013.  A total of 68 people participated in this event, along with 46 unique Fleet owners with 18 and 28. 3 major Financers were also present for this event from ICICI, HDFC and Mahindra Finance.

The entire program was hosted by Mr. Ashish Naik, ABM-MTBL. The evening kick started by addressing the gathering with a warm welcome speech given by Mr. R. Mohan, Sr.GM – Sales, MTBL. This was followed by a Corporate Presentation and Presentation on OPL by Mr. R. Mohan. The speakers of the program were introduced by Mr. Ashish Naik ABM-MTBL.
The speaker presentations began with Mr. Sushil Rathi, Sr. VP Mahindra Logistics who spoke about the trends in automotive carrier segment. The succeeding presentation was given by Mr. Vijay Batra – Motivational Speaker who addressed the gathering on motivating human life.

The success of this seminar was marked by the presence of some of Mahindra’s most premium customers like Mr. Ashok Dingra (DGFC), Mr. Vipul Nanda (Marcurio Pallia), Mr. Rajiv Khurana (Director of Agarwal Packers and Movers), Mr. Darshan (DBRC), Mr. KK Goyal (Tirupati Trans Logistics) and Mr. Vikrant Gupta (Supreme Car Carrier) and many others. A lot of them stayed back until 2 am for further discussions.

The Dealer Team and MTBL HCV Teams were introduced, which was then followed by a vote of thanks which was given by Mr. Satya, Zonal Head North India. Post the program, the customers and speakers involved themselves in healthy interactions and discussions. The Fleet Owners, Financers by MTBL and Dealer Team also closely interacted with one another.
The customers had some great feedback to offer about Mahindra’s services. To quote Mr. Amit Shrawat, Owner of JSP Express said, “Mahindra is changing the perception & test of Indian trucking industry. A good implementation of ATL & BTL promotion Mahindra is teaching to its competitor.” Mr. Dinesh Owner of DTS also said, “A knowledgeable forum backed up with latest equipments. First time I am realizing that transport industry is changing. We should always attend this type of program to gain intangible benefits.” And lastly, Mr. Ashok Dhingra owner of DGFC said, “Good positioning of Brand followed with good speakers and ambience. Moving this way, I am 100% sure that Mahindra Trucks will soon increase their bottom line.”
