MPOWER – III Kick off at IIM-A



The third batch of MPOWER - our brand initiative for young transport entrepreneurs, with the overarching theme of ‘Papa Ka Business,’ was launched at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) on the 13th of Jan, 2014. Since the launch of MPOWER last year, we have already provided exposure to 65 young transporters, from prominent fleet owning businesses of our industry. The current batch has 21 participants.

  • Participants from 11 cities, 15 load segments/ applications like Paper, FMCG, Heavy Engineering, Automobile Carrier, Two-wheeler and Tractor Carrier, Construction and Mining, Market Load, White Goods, Industrial Products, Household Movement, EXIM containers, Cement and Parcel.

The guiding philosophy of this programme is empowering the next generation of India’s transporters/ fleet owners to “Take forward their family business with their OWN vision”, as put forward by Mr. Anand Mahindra while launching the programme at the Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards ceremony on 9th Jan ’13.

Speaking on the same occasion to the media, Mr. Nalin Mehta had also asserted that MTBL wants to walk the talk initiated a year ago, when we urged the next-gen of transporters to join their ‘Papa ka Business’ in our TV-led mass media campaign. After the Youth Transport Personality Awards, the MPOWER programme is a milestone achievement in terms of engagement with young transporters.
21 young transport entrepreneurs, chosen by invitation and belonging to some of the finest transport companies of India, checked in for the 13-day course which is aimed at professionalising the Indian transport sector in the long run. It is a course, which has been specifically designed keeping the transport sector issues in focus. Half a dozen highly accomplished faculty members of IIMA are running the course that covers subjects like professionalism, business planning, market and segments, HR practices, service quality, financial management and accounting, supply chain management, legal and regulatory, information technology, industry focused sessions. Just like the year before, Anantara Solutions is our partner is managing this programme.

The programme, MPOWER, which commenced on the 13th of Jan 2014 will conclude on the Jan 25, 2014 with the valedictory session.
