FuelSmart Technology - For Savings, Performance, & Versatility

Truck owners struggle to achieve profitability due to the following reasons:

  1. Diesel prices constantly rising, and
  2. Varying service conditions—heavy loads over flat roads, heavy loads over steep inclines, and light/zero loads.

How To Tackle The Problem
Price rise is countered by making engines more and more efficient, while varying service conditions call for the ability to switch three different engines in and out of the same truck on the fly!

Mahindra To The Rescue
Guess what? Both challenges have been addressed by Mahindra’s range of specially designed heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs), which use CRDe technology with electronically controlled diesel fuel injection. The combination of fuel economy and versatility in handling service conditions ensures profitability.

How CRDe Works
CRDe has an electronic control unit as a “brain”, which gets information about RPM, rail pressure, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and accelerator pedal from sensors. The engine’s mPOWER FuelSmart multi-mode switch reconfigures the engine for service conditions on the fly, adding life and performance to it.

Mahindra's 7.2 L FuelSmart engine has immense reserve capacity and is backed by 10 years of CRDe expertise. It delivers better mileage without the loss of power, pickup, or pulling ability—all with cleaner emissions, to keep you running for years.

Efficiency Innovation
The FuelSmart engine is one-of-its-kind in frugal fuel consumption. Its high fuel economy along with high performance with a high-pressure common-rail fuel injection system.

The Heavy-duty FuelSmart engines also feature the following innovations:

·         Unique individual cylinder head design lowers maintenance and repair costs
·         Modular cylinder head gasket for low replacement cost and ease of service
·         Wet liner design for minimum replacement cost
·         A water pump driven by the engine gear train instead of the belt, allowing trouble-free operation while also lowering chances of belt failure
·         Enhances vehicular capability to handle Dynamic road and load conditions
·         Optimised for Varied Duty cycles
