The
Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards 2013 has crossed one more milestone with
the successful conduct of the Expert Jury Meet. This meet was held in Mumbai
over two days i.e. the 15th and the 16th of November 2013 and was attended by
22 jury members who interviewed 44 nominees and reviewed case studies for all
the key categories, like the Segment specific Fleet Owners (Finished Metal
Movement, Dry Bulk, Cement, Automotive Carriers, Tankers, Refrigerated Goods
Movement, Exim Containers, Open Category), Fleet Drivers, Youth Transport
Personality and Lady Transport Personality.
The jury
members have been drawn from various facets of the transport ecosystem, viz.,
transport and logistics services users, commercial vehicle media, segment
specific media (cement, infrastructure, steel, etc.), research firms,
Management Faculty, Advisors to Government of India on logistics, etc. As in
the past, Ernst & Young are the process advisors and auditors of the Awards
and their representatives managed the jury process to ensure transparency,
neutrality and process adherence. The process was also managed by the team of
Anantara Solutions, the transport Sector Consultants. Mr. Kiran Rakhe and Mr.
Vibhu Hajela also attended the jury meets as MTBL Observers.
On the 22nd
of November 2013 there will be a jury meet for the CV Financiers category and
on the 29th November 2013 again, the jury meet for the Highway Dhaba and
Highway Mechanic categories would be held.
The shortlisted nominees would be put up for the final round of evaluation by the GRAND JURY, which will be held in December 2013 at Delhi. Prominent people from various domains are expected by part of the GRAND JURY. The Awards ceremony would be held in Delhi on the 9th of January 2014 and will be presided over by Hon. Shri Oscar Fernandes, Union Cabinet Minister for Surface Transport and Highways.
